Weddings
We understand that each wedding is unique, every couple we have performed for has had different plans for their special day, and as such our wedding pipers are flexible to working around the requirements of each wedding. But for those who prefer to alleviate the burden of stress unto a professional entity, Piper Hire can provide you plenty of ideas, hints and advice, ensuring your special day is unique, traditional and above all individual to your family. That is everything from choosing your favourite music to selecting from a variety of different tartans you would like your piper to wear.
Here's an idea of what typically happens on the big day! In order of occurrence your wedding piper will;
• Play for 30 minutes before service during the arrival of your guests
• Play as the Bridal party arrive
• Pipe the Bride into ceremony if required
• Be playing as you both exit from ceremony a newly wedded couple
• Additionally, be available for photographs during the day (no added fee).
Should you require a piper for longer than just the service then please feel free to ask, for no extra cost we will then;
• Play two dinner warning calls as appropriate.
• Provide music for the guests to enter the dining room and take their table positions.
• Pipe the happy couple as they enter their reception toward the top table.
This premium service is an idea of what can be available by opting for 2 wedding pipers; the 'one piper service' may differ but will endeavour to suit your requirements.
We have been asked in the past and are more than happy to arrive early to advise the bridegroom party on the correct wearing of highland dress, particularly fiddly laces and kilt length. (Again, there are NO added fees).

Dinners
No traditional Scottish dinner is complete without the Great Highland Bagpipes. We can guarantee an enjoyable evening with our wealth of experience performing at numerous Burns or St. Andrews dinners around the world, both formal and informal. With classics such as ‘A Man’s a Man’, ‘Flower of Scotland’ and ‘Scotland the Brave’, the bagpipes add a strong and authentic atmosphere to what is sure to be a great night.
With minimum fuss we can adjust our service to fit your program of events, typically we;
• Pipe outside your venue as guests arrive
• Play for dinner calls prior to seating
• Pipe the top table in to the dining hall
• Pipe the haggis in once all are seated
• Perform a set between courses (works best with two pipers!)
Usually dinner guests participate in the traditional customs of a Scottish themed evening however, should you be struggling to find volunteers, we may be able to arrange an ‘Address to the Haggis’ and/or ‘Selkirk Grace’. Additionally, we are available for any photographs you may want throughout the evening, all at no extra cost.
As with all of our services, feel free to ask us should you have any additional requirements.

We work closely with your Funeral Director and the family to fulfil your wishes in creating a service most suited to your loved one, limiting the burden of stress for what we understand to be a very difficult time.
Our repertoire contains many touching airs and laments to suit your service, including ’Flowers of the Forest’ as a typical graveside lament; another popular reflective air is the inspiring song ‘Amazing Grace’.
Piper Hire can provide both a Bugler and/or Piper, adding what we can assure you to be a unique atmosphere. Empathetically providing music whether it be a cemetery or crematorium service, as well as scattering and interment of ashes.
